Manuel A. Escobedo, 79, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 5, 2022 with his family at his side.
Mass of Christian Burial: 9:30 am. Friday, June 17, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
Manuel A. Escobedo was born on November 5, 1942, the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Leandro Escobedo and the late Paula Alderete Escobedo in Abilene, TX. He was always proud of his heritage and roots and played football at Abilene High School. He was a faithful supporter, always happy to travel and watch them play.
He would retire from AT&T, (formerly Southwester Bell) in 2000 after many years as an installer and lineman. Never one to be idle, he would continue working 10 more years at a local storage facility. He loved the local sports teams, and would work for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks as an usher. He was fun loving and always eager to visit with others. He often ask information, wanting to know about new things. Manuel dearly loved his family, proud to be a father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He always put them first, and wanted to be involved in their life.
Survivors: wife of fifty-nine years, Martha Irene Pe?a Escobedo; children, Michael S. Escobedo and his spouse Terrie A, Michelle Virginia Escobedo, Manuel Anthony Escobedo; grandchildren, Matthew A., Amanda N., Michael S. Jr, Austin N. great-grandchildren, Leon and Daisy.
