Retired Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Deruytter of Carrollton/Farmers Branch took his final flight to be with The Lord on September 24, 2019. Dennis passed away at Faith Presbyterian Hospice. He was born to Clara and Serille Deruytter in Sioux Falls South Dakota. He spent his youth in Sioux Falls with 2 brothers and one sister. After graduation from high school he joined the Air Force which brought him to Texas. He was proceeded in death by his parents Serille and Clara Deruytter, his wife Virginia Good Deruytter and his brother Thomas Serille Deruytter. He is survived by his current wife of 12 years, Rosemary Deruytter, daughter Debbie Fitzpatrick (Steve) of Houston, sons Steve Deruytter of Carrollton, and David Deruytter of Carrollton, grandson Jason Fitzpatrick of Houston, brother Joe Deruytter (Irene) of Lake Placid, Florida, Clarese Espe of Eagle River, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews. Dennis was a parishioner at Mary Immaculate church serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Reader and Alter Server. While he was physically able, he attended daily mass. He was passionate about his Catholic Faith, his extended family and service to country. He retired as a Master Navigator in The Texas Air National Guard in 1980 and retired from a retail career, Sears followed by Home Depot in 2007. He looked forward to his annual trip in October back to South Dakota to visit family and participate in opening day of pheasant hunting season. He enjoyed gardening in his back yard along with fellowship at the senior center around the pool table. The family is thankful to the staff at Faith Presbyterian Hospice, friends and family who supported Dennis during his final days. Services: Rosary - Sunday September 29th 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 I-35. Visitation - Sunday September 29th 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Rhoton Funeral Home located at 1511 I-35 Funeral Mass - Monday September 30th at noon.
