Dennis Michael Burg, 75, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away on February 6, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1948, in Milwaukee, WI, to Christopher Burg and Dolores Burg. Dennis was a loving husband to Kathy Burg (who he lovingly called "Pal"), a dedicated father to Leah Burg ("LuLu") and Peter Burg ("Budski"). Known lovingly as "Papa," he was a cherished grandfather to Carter, Gabe, Katherine, and Tristan.
Dennis had a successful career as an attorney for over 40 years where he tirelessly fought for justice and advocated for the developmentally disabled. He attended St. Leo's primary school, Messmer High School, and furthered his education at UW-Milwaukee and Marquette Law School.
Dennis loved his home in Eagle River, WI, which he shared with his friends and family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed cheering on the Brewers baseball team and Marquette Basketball. Dennis also had a passion for philanthropy and environmental conservation. He was a true naturalist who appreciated the outdoors and loved sharing his knowledge with others. Dennis had a brilliant mind and insatiable curiosity. He was interested and well read on a range of topics, including History, Physics, current events, philosophy and religion. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others, as well as learning from them through deep conversation and a genuine interest in the knowledge and insights provided through other people's perspectives. Dennis had a worldly perspective and was known for his epicurean taste in wine and beer. Dennis cherished time with his family. Endearingly labeled the family coordinator, he spent hours planning and finding activities in the city, sporting events, or the outdoors as opportunities to spend quality time together.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 12th, at 2 PM at Old St. Mary's located at 844 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202 followed by a Mass at 3 PM. Contributions in memory of Dennis can be made to the American Cancer Society.
For his family, Dennis put his heart and soul into creating a legacy of financial security and family unity. His legacy of love and laughter will live on forever through his friends and family. Dennis Burg will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
