SCOTT ~ Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Edmond Catholic Church for Dennis J. Breaux. Jr., age 58, who passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Calcutta House in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev. Gilbert Dutel will officiate at the services. Readers will be Victoria Royer and Brock Zeringue. Giftbearers will be Katey Johnson, Skylar LeBlanc, and Shelby Johnson.
Musical selections will be provided by Wayne Hebert and the Holy Cross Men’s Choir, accompanied by Mike Binnings on the organ. The songs will be My Revival, On Eagle’s Wings, Shepherd Me O God, I Will Rise, They Just Believe, The Blessing, and How Great Is Our God.
Mr. Breaux was a native and lifelong resident of Scott. He was employed with Coastal Chemical as an Operations Manager for thirty years. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and active in the ACTS movement with Holy Cross Catholic Church and St. Edmond Catholic Church. An avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a devoted husband, loving father and devout Catholic who lived through his faith. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Johnson Breaux; one son, Kaleb Breaux; one daughter, Anna Marie Breaux all of Scott; two sisters, Catherine Breaux of Crowley and Paulette Romero (Butch) of Lafayette; his Godchildren, Katey Johnson and Casey Lopez; and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Joseph Breaux, Sr. and the former Anna Lou Meaux; an infant daughter, Rene Breaux; and an infant niece, Bridget Leger.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Breaux, Casey Lopez, Evan Richard, Justin Zeringue, Jade Leger, Billy Johnson, Roddie Hebert, and Mike Broussard.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana.
