Denis Patrick O'Brien, 93, of Dujarie House, Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame Indiana (and formerly of Lakeville, Indiana) passed away peacefully in his sleep at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Denis was born on June 28, 1927 in Ballyculhane, Kildimo, Co. Limerick, Ireland to Michael and Anne (nee Bourke) O'Brien. He emigrated to the United States in the late 1940s, where he lived until his passing. Denis was a butcher and involved in the cattle business and farming. Denis prided himself on his work ethic, perfecting his trades, and enjoying life to the fullest. He is survived by eight children: Denise (Michael) Campion of Dublin Ireland, Brenda (Garry) Coup of Tuaranga, New Zealand, Gordon (Carmel) O'Brien of Dublin, Ireland, Thomas O'Brien of Grand Rapids, Michigan, John (Doreen) O'Brien of South Bend, Indiana, Mary Margaret (Chuck) Cantu, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Denis Jr. of South Bend, Indiana and Donnacha (Joseph) O'Brien, of Lakeville, Indiana, sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Denis is also survived by two sisters, Ann (Eithne) O'Brien of Joliet, Illinois and Noreen (Eugene) Ladewski, of South Haven, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his sister Margaret (Peggy) (Joseph) Magner of Jarrettsville, Maryland, and Miceal (Eileen) O'Brien of Kildimo, Ireland.
