Della Lively
Did you know Della? Please share your stories and photos, and help spread the word about this page!
The world has lost an amazing Realty Icon, Wife, Friend, and most importantly (she'd say), Mother. Della Lively passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family. Della came from humble beginnings in Bismarck, ND, where she discovered her amazing work ethic at a young age. She rose to be a top executive secretary for Atlantic Richfield. When she wanted to transfer to Texas to meet a Texan, ARCO broke their own policy and granted her the transfer, their first ever for a woman in the company. Della was a stay-at-home mother to her daughter, Anna, for her formative years, and was the most fun, creative and dramatic role model. She could amaze a room full of kids and adults alike with one of her stories. She was also very wise and ahead of her time in her knowledge of vitamins, nutrition and good eating for health. When her husband, Earl, suggested they might sell residential real estate, Della thought she'd give it a try. Who knew we had the world's greatest salesperson right in our house?! With her amazing talent for listening to and understanding people, Della quickly rose to great heights in the business. She became the perennial winner of the Summit Award for national single-family home sales numbers. She lived Lively Realty's motto, "Service is a LIVELY Art!" On every deal, from a small first home to an estate, Della treated each person as the most important person she knew. And those relationships meant the world to her. Della was well-known for her knockout style and flair, in fashion and personality. And those hats! Working well into her 80s, Della lived to work. But she always had time for those she loved. And she helped everyone along the way. She was a consummate hostess and loved nothing more than a house full of people! She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earl, her daughter, Anna, and her kitties, Smoky and Good-Eye. There will never be another you, Big D!
Everyone has a great Della story...please send yours to [email protected]. We'd love to hear them. And share them. There will be a celebration of Della at Restland's Wildwood Chapel this Friday, July 16th, at 2:00 pm. Della requested LOTS of flowers, so please bring cheerful arrangements or flowering bushes to fill the place. And wear bright colors, like Della loved.
