Dedee June (Norton) Nieto, 51, formerly of Roswell, NM., went to meet the Lord after suffering from multiple long-term health problems that were recently compounded by Covid-19 in a hospital in Midland, TX. on September 11, 2021. She was born Dedee June Hopkins on November 12, 1969, in Roswell to Dillard and Diane (Branum) Hopkins. She attended Goddard High School and was employed her entire life in the family business of providing long term care for the elderly. She was a caregiver to many families in Roswell and worked to make life easier for those suffering the ravages of old age. She gave birth to James Paul "J. P." Norton (now of Midland, TX.) and Christopher Glen "Chris" Norton (now of San Antonio, TX.) in Roswell. In addition to her two beloved sons, Dedee was a much loved member of a large and well known family, the Branum's, of Roswell consisting of her remaining Aunts Carol (Branum) Kisselburg Massey; Carla Ann (Branum) Willingham and Uncle Jack Branum, all of the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area, as well as her many cousins including James R. Kisselburg II (Grapevine, TX.); Elisa D. Kisselburg Phoedoviuos (San Diego, CA); April Lee Kisselburg (San Diego, CA) J.D. Kisselburg and Tennessee Kisselburg (also of the DFW area). She is preceded in death by her parents, a few aunts, and cousins as well as her Uncle Lt. Jim Kisselburg of the Roswell Police Department. In addition to her above noted aunts, uncle, cousins, and sons she is survived by long time friend, Carl Boedeker, of Midland, TX. Until she relocated to the Midland area seven years ago, she was a lifelong Roswell resident, and it was her home. Dedee was a loving and devoted mother to her two sons and her family meant everything to her. As reflected by her lifelong career as a caregiver she loved helping people (until her health no longer permitted it) and she was always an advocate for the needy. In addition to people, she loved animals and was known as a very good cook. She will be deeply missed by her entire family especially her son, J.P. Services have been entrusted to Willowbrook Funeral Home in Midland, TX. A memorial service in Roswell, NM will be held later.
