CHELMSFORDDebra J. Lustiber, age 57, a 31 year resident of Chelmsford, passed away unexpectedly at Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday, July 14, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Paul Lustiber with whom she enjoyed 36 years of marriage. She was born in Birmingham, England on November 23, 1964 and was the daughter of Michael Daniel and the late Janet (Inglis) Daniel. Debra immigrated to the U.S. with her family at age 3, eventually settling in Monroeville, PA where she was raised and attended Gateway High School. Debra went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University where she received her B.S. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. It was here she met Paul and was married shortly after graduating. Debra and Paul lived several years in Waltham before settling in Chelmsford in 1991. After a brief employment at GTE in Needham as a SW engineer, Debra moved on to Data Resources, Inc. in Lexington where she worked as a SW consultant developing econometric SW applications for various clients including General Motors and Harvard Business School. After 14 years, Debra left DRI to devote her full energy to raising her children and being active in the both the school system and youth activities. She returned to work in 2011 with a career shift to information technology and student admissions as a staff member at Oak Meadow, a Montessori School in Littleton; this was a people focused position in which she thrived for the last 11 years. Debra loved cooking, gardening, and hosting family gatherings for all occasions. She enjoyed biking, cross country skiing, aerobics, and running, participating in fun runs and several half marathons in recent years. Debra also enjoyed music and the arts, playing both piano and clarinet. She performed in Gilbert and Sullivan Savoyard theater groups in both Pittsburgh, PA and Sudbury, MA, as well as musical ensembles with her father at the Sudbury United Methodist church. She was an avid reader of mystery novels and loved challenging math and word puzzles. In addition to her loving husband, Debra is survived by her children Graham and Shannon, her brother Alec and her sister Zoe Daniel, her nieces and nephews Sion, Maggie, Maeve, Heather, Eileen, Meg, Gregory, Keegan, Chelsea, Hadley, Hayden, and Camden, and her cousins Julian Daniel and Sian Inglis, both residing in the UK. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 21st from 4pm to 7pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. Funeral Service and Interment will be held privately.
