Debra A. Chonka, 65, of Pittston, died Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Michael Chonka.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Donald and Audrey Luczak Bray, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Debbie was employed as a dietary supervisor at Penrose Hospital and TRW, both in Colorado Springs, and Adams Manor. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church, South Scranton.
Debbie was a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S, and wintering in Florida. She loved gardening, cooking and going to flea markets and yard sales. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by three brothers, Donald J. Bray and wife, Anne, Mt. Cobb; Art Bray and wife, Diane, Scranton; and Brian Bray and wife, Tanya, Mt. Cobb; a sister-in-law, Betsy Hopkins and her husband, Scott, Londonderry, N.H.; aunts and uncles; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Bray McDermott Kelly.
A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Nicholas Chomko Funeral Home, 1132 Prospect Ave., South Scranton, with Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Davis St., Scranton. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday.
