Deborra "Deb" Waynant Lego, passed away on Thursday, September 29th, at home, surrounded by family, in Westminster, Maryland.
She was born May 5th, 1953, in Sabillasville, Maryland, and was the daughter of Naomi Grace Martin Waynant and William "Bill" Vaughn Waynant.
A Viewing will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy., Frederick, Maryland on Wednesday, October 5th from 6 to 8pm, followed by a Funeral Service on Thursday, October 6th at 11am.
Deb attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1975. She was a member of the Phi Alpha Mu sorority. It was at Western Maryland that she met her husband, Burkett "Tim" Timothy Lego. They were married on March 29th, 1980. They lived in Westminster, Maryland for more than 30 years, raising their two sons, Matthew and Andrew.
She worked at PHH Fleet services for a number of years before taking time to be a stay-at-home mother to her two sons. Following that, she worked several jobs that she enjoyed, including at Goodwill and Waldens Book Store. Some of her fondest memories were the bookstore's midnight book releases.
Having grown up on a farm with horses, rabbits, and more, she loved animals, especially birds, horses, and dogs, as well as gardening. She was a member of the Carroll County Bird Club and Carroll County Kennel Club. There likely isn't a crabcake in all of Maryland that Deb has not tried; she was always the best judge of who's were the best.
All who knew Deb would describe her as a sweetheart and a kind soul. Her smile would light up a room. She never failed to smile when one of her sons walked into the room or when she leaned in to give her husband a kiss, even in her final days. We know that she's watching down from heaven, smiling upon her loved ones and rooting on the O's.
She is survived by her husband, Burkett Timothy Lego; son, Matthew "Matt" Timothy Lego and girlfriend, Montgomery Elizabeth Pace; son, Andrew "Andy" Benjamin Michael Lego and fiance, Taylor Brooke Murphy; sister-in-law Priscilla Pilson Waynant. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald "Ronnie" William Waynant; mother, Naomi Grace Martin Waynant, and father, William Vaughn Waynant.
In remembrance of Deb, the family requests flowers be sent to Resthaven Funeral Home or memorial donations be made to Bridging Life (formerly Carroll Hospice).
