Morris, Deborah Benton, left her cancer behind as she passed to meet her Lord in her heavenly home on April 18, 2021. Deborah was born November 4, 1952, at Fort Benning, GA into a military family. She was an Honor Graduate from Forest Park High where she entered business education as a career. She was a logistics coordinator, and retired after 42 years as the Customer Service Manager for Shippers Warehouse in Jonesboro, GA. Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Red and Kitty Benton, her beloved husband James Anthony "Tony" Morris and brother-in-law Jerry Smitherman. She is remembered as a generous and loving person by her daughter and Son-in-law Amy and Dwyane Schweikart, six grandchildren, Clayton, Heather, Courtney, and Casey Bixby, Cooper and Taylor Schweikart. She was greatly loved by her sister Judy Smitherman, her brothers-in-law, Mike (Leslie) and Tim (Lanie) Morris, her Alabama nephews Jeff and Jayson Smitherman, nieces and nephews, Chris, Kevin, Mandy, Julie and Ray. The bond she shared with her longest and best friends Gary and Peggy Gachesa will always be cherished. Debbie enjoyed the beach, Christmas with her family, singing out loud and loved dancing. She was devoted to her family and without knowing became a role model for so many women who were blessed to have been a part of her life. Her strength kept her fighting for 28 years of battling the big "C" word. Tough is an understatement. This world has lost a special person and a new angel is added to the heavenly choir.
The family will be receiving friends at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow, Ga., 770-961-2828 on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 5:30 pm-8:00 pm.
