Deanna M. Shannon, 79, of Cranberry Township, passed away at UPMC Passavant McCandless on the evening of March 16, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 10, 1942 in Lone Pine, California, she was the daughter of the late Walter Leonard and Avilia Macias Berringer. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles J. Shannon. They would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this June and she would have told you those were the happiest 30 years of her life.
Mother of Julie A. McCormick of CA., Janeil M. (Shaun) O'Hare of FL., and the late Jamie Theresa McCormick. Unbelievably proud Grandmother of Max A. Brodsky and Aiden R. Brodsky. Sister of the late Michael R. Leonard. Family was everything to Deanna and she devoted her whole life to their happiness.
Once her daughters were in high school, Deanna embarked upon a career as a stockbroker. She was one of the first women branch managers of First Montauk Securities and managed a branch in New Castle, PA for ten years.
Deanna (Wife, Mom/Mommy, Grandma, Friend) made a lasting impression on everyone she met, even the nurses who provided care to her during her last days. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, it was a love like no other. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts and lives that will never be filled.
A Funeral Mass was held at the Most Precious Blood of Jesus Parish on Friday, March 18, 2022 and she was interred at Holy Souls Cemetery in Coraopolis, PA. The family requests that donations be made in Deanna's name to either UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at https://hillmanresearch.upmc.edu/giving/ or to an organization that is meaningful to you.
