DeAnna Joy Coleman was unexpectedly called home to Heaven on Christmas Day, 2020. A legendary mother, sister, and friend to many, she was unquestionably a gift that this world did not deserve.
Born in Milwaukee on December 11, 1964, she has since called many states and cities home, in which anyone who needed rest or protection was always welcome. Wherever she was, there was always a plate to eat, a place to sleep, and laughter.
DeAnna was supremely resourceful. If you needed it, and she had the means to help, it was yours. She was also a masterful protector, with hope and faith being her sword and shield.
DeAnna had only just begun her dream career as a healthcare provider, despite a global pandemic. She spent every day of her life taking care of others, as few things made her happier.
She leaves innumerable loved ones to cherish her memories: her siblings Vickie, Monica, Mark, Todd and Dionne; her children Naigee, Damany, Destinee and Destin; her grandchildren Donovan and Randi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
She joins her daughter, Candice; her mother, Claudette; and her brother, Elbert Jr. in Heaven.
To know her was to love her. Companionship, care, and connectedness are her legacy.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021, 1:00 pm at Watkinsville Baptist Church, 1681 Highway 24 West, Waynesboro, Georgia. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home, 404 West 8th Street, Waynesboro, Georgia.
