David Mark Yoro 89, passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2024, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.
David was born on April 13, 1935 to Juan and Juana (de los Santos) Yoro, in Waipahu, Hawaii. He was the youngest of 4 boys.
He was a proud graduate of his alma mater Saint Louis High School and University of Hawaii. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. While playing football for the Army, he met "THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE... MARTHA ANN". In 1957 they were married in Martha's hometown of Morristown, Tennessee, eventually returning to his hometown, Waipahu Hawaii, where they resided for 46 years.
David and Martha became parents to 3 children, Mary, Randy and Phyllis.
David worked for many years and later retired from GTE Hawaiian Telephone Company. He then became an inspector for the US Agriculture for many years and later retired. During his "Makule" years David remained very active playing softball. When not playing, he was the District Head Umpire for many leagues. In 2005 David and Martha relocated to Sevierville, Tennessee, which they called "HOME".
David is survived by his children, Mary Yoro, Randall (Laura) Yoro, Phyllis (Reuben) Longboy, seven grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and 1 more on the way. His fur babies, Brownie and Pussah, his brother, Paul Yoro, many nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Ann (Pickel), parents, Juan and Juana Yoro, his brothers, Boni and Alex Yoro, his sisters, Helen Ajifu and Mercedes Fabro.
A special mention of Love and Mahalo to Sherice, Phyllis and Reuben Longboy for the unconditional love, comfort and care given to Mom and Dad during their time in need.
Inurnment, with military honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
