David Michael Williams passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on July 18th, 2024. David was born in Hartford, CT on October 6th, 1956, to the late Michael A. and Elaine (Germaine) Williams. David graduated from East Hartford High and attended the University of Connecticut. He was a proud 35-year employee of the J.M. Smith Corporation, spending the majority of his career with QS/1 Data Systems and most recently serving as Vice President of RxMedic before retiring in 2019. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, going to concerts and spending time at the beach, both in North Carolina and Maine. An avid sports fan, he loved watching his Boston sports teams, the Red Sox especially, and his UCONN Huskies. David was known for his big personality and even bigger heart. He loved to laugh and lived every day to the fullest. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, always wanting to leave the world a better place than how he found it.
Within his decades of success and accomplishments, he would say he was most proud of being a father and grandfather. David was a devoted, supportive Dad and a loving, doting "Popi." Being a great athlete himself, he enjoyed coaching his children's various sports teams, particularly basketball. He was his grandkids' biggest fan and loved watching them play sports and watching his granddaughter Irish step dance. He was happiest spending time with those he loved and it showed in his beautiful smile.
Besides his parents, David was preceded in death by a son, William J. Rubacha. He leaves his loving children; Sarah Maloney and her husband Brian of Wilbraham, MA, Andrew Williams and his wife Whitney of Rocky Point, NC and Daniel Williams of Wilbraham, MA; his cherished grandchildren Declan, Michael and Quinn Maloney, "baby girl" Addison Williams and Aunna and Dylan Rubacha; his siblings Gregory, Maria (Christos), "baby brother" Barry John, Michael, Kathryn (Jones) and Maura Williams; and his beloved soul mate and best friend, Lyndell D'Angelo of Wilmington, NC who took the absolute best care of him. David will be sorely missed by all who loved him and his memory will be treasured forever.
A celebration of David's tremendous life is planned for October.
Memorial contributions in David's memory may be made to the animal shelter of your choice in honor of his loyal Siberian Husky, Sadie Mae, who was always by his side.
