My Daddy, my Superman is how I always have seen him as my whole life. He was a man of mystery and this is what drew people to him. My father was one of the best carpet installers I've ever seen and has installed flooring in places like Capital Hill and other D.C. Government Offices. He was 32 years old when he was shot with a . 357 in a store robbery as my mom and him waited outside in his custom made van which is a major factor in his life being spared but sadly he lost his peripheral sight and this truly changed something in my dad. He lost his right to drive, something not only needed as a carpet installer but as a man that he was. He wasn't without many flaw's but he could do no wrong in my eyes! He was married to my mom Colleen for 46 years and when she passed away February 14th, 2021 in her sleep of nature causes, my father found his kryptonite and I saw, for the first time in my life a broken man. Sadly, he was only able 😓 to make it a month after my mom passed away and I lost my Superman on March 24th, 2021.
To the Strongest Man I have ever met and I will always be proud to say is my father! David Wayne Barnes
