David Wayne Smith Jr. was born July 31, 1971 in Long Beach California to David Wayne Sr. and Kathryn Atchley Smith. He left this world on October 19, 2021 in Midland Texas.
David was a Free Spirit and loved to ride motorcycles, especially his Indian that he had custom painted. David worked various jobs over the years including the Ector County sheriff's office as a jailer but his favorite by far was his ten-year foster parent career where he and his then wife Shawna Smith raised over 42 foster children. He had lots of beautiful memories of that time. His favorite holiday was Halloween and he loved music of all kinds. He loved the outdoors, guns, hunting and landscaping which he excelled at. David also had an appreciation for art which he came by naturally. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the occasional prank on the unsuspecting friend or family member.
David is preceded in death by his uncle Cecil "Boy" Smith, Grandmother Iva Jo Atchley, grandmother Melba Smith, grandmother Margaret Kennedy, grandfather JD Atchley and his beloved mother Kathryn Smith.
David leaves behind his son Samuel Colt Smith of San Antonio, daughter Martika Williams and her son Caden of San Antonio, his father David Wayne Smith Sr. and wife Kelly of Midland, his sister Kellie Wall and her husband Marlow of Midland, sister Grace Smith, his grandfather Cecil "Sonny" Smith and wife Nita of Midland, his uncle Mike Smith and wife Jane Ann of Midland and lots of cousins.
