David Edward Shea
Always a gentleman and a bit of Leprechaun, he will be remembered for his grin and the twinkle in his eye.
Beloved husband of the late Betty Lou; dear father of David Jr. (Ann), Mary Ann, and Ray; dear grandfather of Jessica, Alexis, David, Brendan, Chelsea, and Tara; preceded in death by sisters, Loretta and Margaret, brothers Tom, Matt, Ray, Bob and Ken; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle; great-great uncle and dear friend to so many. Mr. Shea was born in St. Louis, MO, and was a long time resident of St. Ann. A silver star decorated soldier, Technical Sgt. Shea served his country proudly as a member of the 32nd Infantry Division, Company B in the Philippines during WWII. Before retiring from the Defense Mapping Agency, Mr. Shea worked on the camera equipment that went to the moon on the Apollo spacecraft. He was a long time volunteer at the St. Louis Science Center and the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the American Red Cross and a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts troop at St. Kevin's Parish. He will be missed dearly by all who had the great luck to spend time with him.
