David F. Reinke, 89, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at UW Hospital in Madison surrounded by his loved ones.
Dave was born on March 26, 1935 the son of Herbert A. and Mabel (Backhaus) Reinke in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School. He attended UW Eau Claire and graduated from UW Madison. Dave proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956. He was married to Sandra Helbing on October 2, 1976 at Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam.
Dave was a Vice President at Kirsh Foundry for many many years and also worked at H & R Block for many years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
Dave was the longest-standing member of Old Hickory Golf Club, where he spent countless cherished hours on the greens. In recognition of his deep connection to the club, a tree was planted in his honor, a lasting tribute to his love for the game of golf.
Dave was a devoted husband of 48 years, he and Sandy often embarked on long car rides together, a tradition that reflected his lifelong passion for driving Lincoln cars.
Dave will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy; children Michael (Tracy) Yaktus of Cross Plains, and Susan Mayer of Mount Horeb; grandchildren: Zach (Janelle) McNally, Jordan (Mike) Decello, Avery (Casey) Schrantz and Skylar Yaktus; great grandchildren: Isabella, Olivia, Elijah, Hailey, Lily and Mason; his sister Naomi Lindeman and brother Frederick (Rita) Reinke. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lois Diekvoss.
A memorial service for Dave will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dave's memory may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam, WI.
