David "Duke" L. Pearson, 86-year-old resident of Pillager, Minnesota, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg, Minnesota, at 10:30 AM., with Father Patrick Hoeft officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 AM., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on April 9, 2025. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls. Caring for Duke and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls.
Duke was born on January 15, 1937, to the late Oscar and Ida (Johnson) Pearson in Todd County, Minnesota. He was a graduate of Swanville High School. Duke honorably served his country in the United States Army as a Military Medical Specialist in San Antonio and Ft. Hood, Texas for two years. He married Joan Kedrowski on September 25, 1961, in Flensburg, Minnesota. Duke worked in Little Falls at the creamery, making butter and hauling milk and cream for the farmers. He also drove school bus, worked at Control Data and HEI in Sauk Rapids, and delivered propane. After his retirement, Duke enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting deer and grouse, Canada fishing trips, Vikings football, snowmobiling, whittling, woodworking, and making canes out of diamond willow into walking sticks. Duke was an American Legion and the Northern Lights Snowmobile Club member.
Duke is survived by his wife, Joanie Pearson; sons, Grant and Brad Pearson; daughter, Sue Pearson; brother, Lyle Pearson; and grandson, Brendon Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Pearson; brothers, Lloyd, Vern, Oscar "Bud," Donny, and Paul.
