David Ross Odom, 85, of Beaumont, passed away on January 16, 2021, at Gilbert's Assisted Living, Beaumont. He was born October 13, 1935, in Farmerville, Louisiana, to Eunice Hudson Taylor Odom and Willie Bert Odom.
Ross was a longtime resident of Beaumont. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Army Reserve. He retired from the Exxon Mobil Polyethylene plant and was an active member of Westgate Memorial Baptist Church.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Kerwin Merritt Odom; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Odom; and wife, Mary Lou Newcomb Odom.
He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Isaacs, and her husband, W. Dennis Isaacs, of Beaumont; granddaughter, Leslie Ann Hutchison Walker, and her husband, Joshua Walker of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and great-grandson, James Hutchison Walker, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; brothers, Ira Taylor, of West Monroe, Louisiana and Gayle Odom, of Tenaha: and stepsons, Dale Newcomb, of Spring, and Walter Newcomb, of San Antonio.
His cremation arrangements will be handled though Broussard's Crematorium under the direction of Broussard's, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His family will gather at a later date for interment at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, Louisiana.
