David Ray McCullough, 73, of Lumberton, passed away on December 18, 2022 at Cannon Hospice in Gulfport, MS. David was born March 28, 1949 to Van C. McCullough and Lucille Edwards in Summit MS. As a kid he loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting, a hobby he would keep throughout his life. In November of 1969 David joined the US Army serving a campaign in Vietnam where he received a Vietnam Campaign and Service medal with a Bronze Star. David was honorably discharged in July of 1974, where he returned to south Mississippi. Upon returning he would meet Marilyn his first wife and mother to his children. Living in Summit they would have three children, Jason, Shannon, and Crystal. David later would go on to meet Lorriane, his second wife, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Making a home in Kentwood, David made a living as a heavy machine operator. He did many different things, spending most of his time on a bulldozer. Eventually retiring and moving to Lumberton, MS he still spent time hunting and fishing, when he wasn't spending quality time with family. David will be fondly missed by all who knew him. David is preceded by his parents, Van McCullough and Lucille Edwards; his second wife Lorraine Ann Dore; his daughter Crystal McCullough; siblings Charles, Earnest, and Van McCullough, Idell Anglin, Juanita Wells, and Mary Gill. Left to cherish his memories are: his siblings, Doug and Mickael McCullough, Elaine Bacot, Judy Boyd, Margie Hutson, and Vivian Herring; his children Jason (Sharon) McCullough of Slidell, Shannon (Dewey) Graham of Lumberton, and his stepson, James Robnett of Kenner, LA; Grandchildren Dewey (Sara) Graham, Justin (Jackie) Graham, Kristal (Dustin) Coker, Nicholas Graham, and Samantha Bethe; along with 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. David is remembered as loving husband, father, and grandfather.
