59, of Belle passed away suddenly on July 29, 2024.
Angelo was born in South Charleston and graduated from George Washington High School in 1982. He developed his lifelong passion for cars while pursuing his auto mechanics certificate at Carver Career Center.
In the early 1980s, Angelo obtained his journeyman plumber's license and joined his father in the family plumbing business, McCallister Plumbing Service. However, he spent the majority of his career working as an auto mechanic at several dealerships in the Kanawha Valley.
He had a passion for hunting and the great outdoors. He was known by all as an avid outdoorsman, spending much of his younger years in the woods.
A handyman by choice, Angelo was the first to help a friend in need. From affixing a license plate, rebuilding an engine or any odd job around the house, no task was too tall for him.
In 2019, he became a grandfather, thanks to Maciebug. He would proudly show off new photos of his grandchildren any chance he was given. Angelo cherished his time with his three grandchildren and loved them more than anything, despite his grandson Matthew nicknaming him "Stinky Papaw." Family always came first for him, as evidenced by the faded family photos of his two sons and grandchildren on his toolboxes.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Davy and Janet Abshire McCallister; infant brother, Griff Ivan McCallister; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Rita Durham; nephew, Andy Durham; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jay Walter and Opal Perry Durham; special cousin, Timothy Pauley and special friend, Mark Vickers.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn McCallister; sons, Cody Allan McCallister (Amanda) of Morgantown, Sean Austin McCallister of Belle; sister, Joetta McCallister of Alum Creek; grandchildren, Macie, Matthew and Madison McCallister; sister-in-law, JoAnn Ashworth; niece, Jordan Barrier (Ben); nephew, Heath Ashworth (Brittany); great-nephew, Theodore Ashworth all of Concord, North Carolina; nephew, Dustin Durham of Knoxville, Tennessee; dogs and cat, Lilly, Mindy and Fluff.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle, with Pastor Tony Rumburg officiating. Visitation will be two hours before service time at the funeral home on Saturday.
In keeping with Angelos's final requests his cremation wishes will be honored following the service.
The family would like to thank Deputy Casto of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office for his kind and courteous actions.
