David Henry Manthei, 87, of New Castle passed away on the morning of Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Henry Community Health in New Castle. He was born on December 5, 1936, Joliet, Illinois, a son of the late Henry and Marie (Hahlweg) Manthei and graduated in 1954 from Joliet Township High School.
Survived by his wife, Jackie (Lener) Manthei; children, Rick (Darlene) Manthei and Linda Cecil; grandchildren, Windi Bray, John Paul Stotler, Amanda Campbell and Michael Cecil; great-grandchildren, Xander, Grant, Emma, Dallas, Weston, John Luke and Peyton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 18, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
