David Malcolm Wyckoff was born April 16, 1936 in Peoria, Illinois to Raymond and Mary Wyckoff. David passed into glory March 21, 2021 at the age of 84 in Elkhart Indiana at Hubbard Hills Healthcare Facility.
He was the youngest of 6 and enjoyed a close relationship with them. He has one living brother, Arthur Wyckoff of Peoria, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Oetzel, Clara Niblack, and Grace McCoy, and a brother Edward Wyckoff. He is also preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Wyckoff, and his wife Joyce Lee Wyckoff.
He has two sons and one daughter: Mark Wyckoff of Sparta Tennessee, Brad (Holly) Wyckoff of South Bend, Indiana, and Marla (Stanley) Neal of Sparta, Tennessee. Grandchildren: Kristen Wyckoff, Stacy (Josh) Waddell, Sarah Wyckoff, Haylee Wyckoff, Lucas Wyckoff, Shelby Neal, and Davis Neal. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
David enjoyed baseball through his school years, served 2 years in the United States Army and came out and started in the insurance business in Fort Wayne Indiana where he met and married his wife of 30 years, Joyce Wyckoff. In 1985 he transitioned to a career as a financial advisor for Edward Jones Investments and moved his family to Crossville Tennessee where he opened an office. After establishing a successful office, he and Joyce moved to the main office in St. Louis Missouri. Once Joyce passed after a long illness, he became a transitional financial advisor and traveled across the US. Once retired, he returned to Tennessee for a few years, but ended up settling in Northern Indiana.
David loved the Lord and was faithful in church for as long as he could attend. He grew up in Mt. Olive Missionary Church, Peoria, Illinois. He raised his family, and was also the song leader with Joyce playing the piano at Faith Chapel Missionary Church South Bend, Indiana. In Tennessee he worshipped with Fairfield Evangelical Free Church and in his final years in northern Indiana he attended Bible Baptist Church in Wakarusa Indiana. It is fitting the Lord took him on a Sabbath.
Visitation and the funeral service will be held in South Bend at Palmer Funeral Home Guisinger Chapel with burial at Southlawn Cemetery next to his wife, Joyce. Visitation will be 4-5pm for family, 5-7pm for friends on Thursday March 25, 2021. The funeral will be Friday March 26, at 10:30am with a graveside service to follow.
