David Bustillos Leal was born December 27, 1956 to Ismael F. Leal and Guadalupe O. Leal in Amarillo, Texas and went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 21, 2022.
David grew up in Plainview, Texas with his twin brother, Tony Leal, and 9 other brothers and sisters (Felix Bustillos, Jr., Susan Chavez, Janie Sauceda, Salvador Bustillos, Barbara Ramirez, Ismael Leal, Jr., Rebecca Cardenas, Sara Garcia, and Fernando Leal).
David married the love of his life, Judy Duran, in October 1982 in Plainview, Texas and moved to Austin, Texas. David and Judy had one son, David Leal, Jr. (1983). Judy passed away in 1988. David married his second wife, Alma De La Cruz in December 1989. David and Alma had one son, Andrew Leal (1990), and one daughter, Aimee Leal (1995). David later married his current wife, Josephine Valdez, in July 2018.
Throughout David's life, he has worked in the transportation, warehouse and construction industries, retiring as a concrete truck driver for Lauren Concrete. David enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, tending to the property and animals, reading the Bible, serving the Lord in the usher ministry, tinkering with small engines, and making ammunition in his spare time. David was a caring man, who had a big heart for others. David will be dearly missed by all.
David is proceeded in death by his parents, Ismael and Guadalupe Leal, and first wife, Judy Leal. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Josephine Valdez; his son, David Leal, Jr., his wife, Jennifer, and grandchildren, Elijah, Elizabeth "Ellie", and Andrea, of Lockhart, Texas; his son, Andrew Leal and his wife, Rose, of Boston, Massachusetts; and his daughter, Aimee Leal, of Austin, Texas; and all of his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and many close and caring friends and family.
