David Herman Korytoski, 67, of Northampton, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021, at his home in Belchertown, MA, with his devoted wife of 46 years at his side. Born December 24, 1953, in Northampton, MA, he was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy (Kuzmeski) Korytoski.
David graduated from Northampton High School in 1971, with honors, and was a standout baseball and soccer player. He always loved being one of the "Baystate boys." He attended Springfield College and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He worked as a union carpenter and tax preparer, before ultimately working for Big Y Foods, Inc. in loss prevention and labor planning for almost three decades. He was dedicated to the philosophy of Big Y and the D'Amour family and loved running into the people he knew while in the stores. His carpentry skills came in handy for years at his over 100-year-old Union St. home. He also continued to prepare taxes at Accounting and Tax Associates in Northampton.
He adored his 3 sons and passed on to them his love of fishing, candlepin bowling, soccer, and golf. He was an amazing father and a devoted family man. Some will remember David as their youth soccer coach, where he was a fixture for several years.
David leaves his loving wife, Cheryl (Phillips) Korytoski of Belchertown, MA, sons Tim Korytoski and his sons Efrem and Taiton of Westhampton, MA; A.J. Korytoski, his wife Gina, their son Luke and daughter Mia of Simsbury, CT; Jeremy Korytoski, his wife Lily, and their sons Noah and Finn of Warren, MA.
He is predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Rankin and his parents, Dot and Zig Korytoski. He is also survived by his brothers, James Korytoski (Wanda) of Smiths Station, AL; Thomas Korytoski (Jan) of West Yarmouth, MA; Richard Korytoski (Debbie) of Cataula, GA; Daniel Korytoski (Chelle) of Newnan, GA; and his sister Susan Yurgielewicz (Larry) of Haydenville, MA.
