David Ronald “Ronnie” Johnson, 75, formerly of Pampa died Sunday November 4, 2018, at his home in Amarillo.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2018 at Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ with Minister Keith Feerer, officiating. Arrangements are under the guidance of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services of Amarillo.
Mr. Johnson was born December 30, 1942 in Amherst, Texas to David and Anna Johnson. He was involved in the FFA and played football. He graduated from Springlake-Earth High School in 1961. He married Linda Lewis on June 29, 1962. He attended Abilene Christian University and graduated in 1965 with a degree in Accounting. He and his family moved to Pampa in 1973. He worked for Malcom Hinkle before opening his own business, Johnson Business and Financial Services, in 1975. He enjoyed gardening, reading and watching cooking shows. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and playing with his great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Lyle Johnson, his parents, in laws Virgil and Annie Lewis, sister in law Margaret Johnson, and brothers in law Leon “Tuffy” Dent and Truman Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; a daughter, Melanie McBride and husband John of Amarillo; a brother, Don Johnson of Santa Fe, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, Lindsay Spearman and husband Jared of Katy; Lauryn Langford of Amarillo; Logan Langford and wife Britini of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Maycie McBride and Rylan McBride of Lubbock; Jaden Johnson and Colin Johnson of Connecticut; and Abigail Smith and husband Chace of Fort Worth; eight great grandchildren, Madysen and Jagger Martinez of Amarillo; Jack, Parker, and Slade Spearman of Katy; Eden Langford, on the way, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Bailey and Ava Smith of Fort Worth; sisters-in-law Neleen Dent and Mona Lewis of Lubbock; brother-in-law Melvin Lewis and wife Evelyn of Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
