David F. Jaquish, LtCol( Ret) USAF, now of Keller, Texas, was born in Wilkes- Barre, PA to John J. and Mabel Robbins Jaquish on August 6,1936. He passed into God's everlasting arms on December 24,2021.
Dave graduated from Tunkhannock High School in Tunkhannock, PA in 1954. He then accomplished a lot at Penn State: graduating with both an Agricultural Education degree and a 2LT commissioning in the USAF, as well as marrying Alma Jane Kennedy, of Mars, PA. They were married 63 1/2 years!
Dave, aka 'Jake', and Jane moved 20 times in a nearly 22 year USAF career-flying the fighter jets he loved ( F-100's, F-4's , and A-7's ) across America as well as during his overseas assignments in England, Germany, and Japan. He logged 190 missions in the Vietnam War in 1969, defending liberty.
In 1980, Dave retired from the USAF and began an equally-dedicated career in leadership training and other high school JRROTC instructor courses in both Great Valley High School, Malvern, PA (2 years) and Coatesville Area High School, Coatesville, PA (18 years). He also thoroughly enjoyed teaching broader life lessons and the importance of a character of integrity. He sponsored clubs in Bible, rocketry and airplane modeling, and took students on many exciting field trips.
He is survived by his faithful wife Jane , older sister Charlotte of Burke, VA, and by their 3 children: Susan and husband Gerry of Keller, TX; Derek and wife Terri of Fairfax Station, VA; and Doug and wife Deborah of Bellbrook, OH. 16 grandchildren and almost 10 great-grandchildren have all thrived in their growing walk with Jesus Christ, because of Grandpa and Grandma's influence! He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, as well as former students and friends!
