David Joel Hunter “Papaw” passed peacefully on September 27, 2018 at home with his loved ones. He was the husband of Jean Ellen Jackson. They shared 62 years of marriage together.
He was born in Marlin, Texas on November 11, 1935 to Thomas Jefferson Hunter and Dorothy Jean Mc Carver. He was one of six brothers: Elmer Lee, John, Tommy Jean, Larry, and Jerry.
He had many talents which included spending his free time in the garage building clocks and lamps, refurbishing antique tractors, and rebuilding his 1953 Chevrolet pick-up. He was a man of few words, but his love for his family spoke volumes. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life, and he enjoyed making wonderful memories with them throughout the years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; son, David Eldon Hunter and wife, Jenna; son, Joel Blaine Hunter and wife, Lisa; his grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Nicole, Bryant, and Jordan; and his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Emery, Atlas, and Knox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Dorothy, and brothers Elmer Lee and John.
The services will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Bremond Memorial Funeral Home with Gary Freeman officiating and burial will follow at the White Rock Cemetery.
