David Miller Hoffman (Dave), 70, of Danville, IN, passed away on Friday, April 03, 2020 at the VA Hospital of Indianapolis due to complications with COVID-19. Dave was a tenacious man who went into remission after battling Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Dave was born on May 12, 1949 in Nashville, TN to Milton and Anne Daughtry Hoffman of Gallatin, TN. Dave is preceded in death by his father, Milton Hoffman. He is survived by his mother, Anne Hoffman of Gallatin, TN; sister, Jana (Phillip) Pistole of Brentwood, TN; sister, Jane (Vince) Marshall of Norfolk, VA.
Dave married the love of his life, Alice Lynnellen (Wallace) Hoffman, on July 27, 1974. They raised three rambunctious boys, Brian (Anissa) Hoffman of Jamestown, IN; James (Kara) Hoffman of Washington, IN; and Bradley Hoffman of Danville, IN.
Dave lived 70 blessed years to its fullest. He graduated from Whiteland High School and attended Freed Hardeman College in Jackson, TN. Dave is a Veteran of the Vietnam War where he received numerous medals. He worked for General Motors for 45 years when he retired in 2012.
Dave was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a member of the American Legion where he enjoyed going to eat lunch and socializing with fellow veterans. Dave loved deer hunting and fishing. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He adored his three grandchildren, Nate, Jayden, and Wyatt. Dave was dearly loved by everyone who knew him.
