David Gordon Geis 1965 - 2023 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of David Geis - a son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend who will be deeply missed. David was born August 23, 1965 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon Geis and Kaye Williams. David passed away May 1, 2023 at the age of 57 after many years of health struggles.
As a young boy, David loved to play outdoors, skateboard, ride his bike, and roller-skate with his sister. As a teen he discovered his first love of riding dirt bikes, which later evolved into a deep passion for motorcycle riding. David graduated from Hueneme High School in 1984 where he was a member of the wrestling team. After graduation, David began a lifelong career as an electro mechanical motor rewinder where he had an excellent reputation for his extensive knowledge of motors, eye for detail, and strong work ethic.
In David's adult life, his interests and hobbies included competitive archery and darts, designing and building custom audio speakers, target shooting, and riding his motorcycle in the canyons of Malibu with his Sunday afternoon crew. His therapy was listening to quality music at the purest level possible. His ear for detailed sound was like no other. David will be remembered as an incredibly thoughtful person who was tenderly sentimental. He loved to lend a helping hand to friends and family wherever he could, even at the drop of a hat, and was always up for getting his hands dirty on a good DIY project. It is undeniable through his frequent selfless acts that he cared profoundly about the needs of others.
David is preceded in death by his father, Gordon Geis, who was his best friend, and his infant sister Christina Marlene Geis. He is survived by his mother Kaye Williams, sister and second best friend Cindy (Rick) Torres, nieces and nephew Erica, Quinn, and Brooke Torres, all of Camarillo. David was most excited about his great niece due this September and he will no doubt be her beloved guardian angel. David also dearly loved his extended family both locally and in Utah (special thank you to cousins Robert and Sterling for all the help they provided David over the years).
Dearest David, we pray the music of heaven welcomed you with sounds so sweet, that your soul was finally set free. The family will hold a private memorial service for David.
