Jerry "David" Franks, of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on August 9, 2022 in Norman. He was born on July 26, 1971 in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Jimmy Lee and Melissa Lee (Baker) Franks.
The family will receive visitors at Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan on Monday, August 15, between 5:30 and 7:00PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, at 1:00PM in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Arnold Nelson officiating. Pallbearers will be Connor Franks, James Franks, Andrew Franks, Jeff Cooper, Jay Satterwhite, Billy Samuels, Zack Samuels and Jacob Samuels. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Franks and Lauren Franks. Interment will be in the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home.
When in Duncan, David worshipped at the Westside Christian Church. David attended Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming. After a move to Parker, Colorado, he was a 1990 graduate of Ponderosa High School. In school, David played football and wrestled. While in Jr. College in California, he became a Jr. College All-American Wrestler. All his life, David loved to fish and enjoyed watching football. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his children. He worked in sales.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents: Raymon and Mary Frances Franks, Jerry and Joanne Baker. David is survived by his children: Lauren Franks and Connor Franks, both of Noble, and Samuel Franks of Edmond. He is survived by his parents: Jimmy and Melissa Franks of Norman, as well as his brothers: James, and wife Jennifer Anne Franks of Norman, Andrew Franks of Piedmont. He is survived by his nephews: Thomas Franks, John Isaac Franks, Joseph Franks, Dale Franks and Edward Franks. He is survived by his former wives, Kelli Sharp of Noble, and Jennifer Franks of Edmond. David is also survived by a close extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom he loved.
