David Landon Fleming, 85, of Lewisville, passed peacefully into His Heavenly Father's arms, with his family by his side, Monday afternoon, October 17, 2022.
David is survived by his wife, Louise; son Kenneth Wells, wife Teresa; grandchildren J.D. Wells and Erica, Heath Wells and Whitney, and Emily Wells; great-grandchildren Jolie Wells, Brady Wells and Sadie Wells (on the way); daughter Debbie Fleming, granddaughter Celeste Lomeli, and great-granddaughter Alice Poindexter. David is also survived by brothers Dewey Fleming, wife Rita; Mack Fleming; sisters Gardenia Kruger, Faye Elerson, and Kay Manley. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lee and Alice Harbinson Fleming, as well as brothers Keith Fleming, Don Fleming, and Wayman Gail Fleming.
David grew up in Emory, Texas, where he graduated from Emory High School in 1956. After high school, David moved to Dallas where he worked for A & P Grocery, followed by Braswell Freight, Addison Airport, and Texas Instruments, where he retired in 1991. David loved giving back to the Lewisville community through volunteer coaching in the Lewisville Pee Wee Football Association and the Girls' Softball Association. During his retirement, David held several interests which included working in security for the Lewisville ISD and trying his entrepreneurial spirit in a sno-cone business, a pest control business, and his favorite pastime of woodworking.
David was a member of the Northview Baptist Church, where he was baptized in 2007. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as his friends at Northview and the Lewisville Community.
A visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm, followed by celebration of his life at 2:00 pm at Northview Baptist Church, 1981 North Mill Street, Lewisville, TX 75057.
