It is with great sadness to announce that David "Dave" M. Fister, age 59 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 1st, 2024.
Dave was born to Denis Fister and Jane (Kroeger) Fister on May 5, 1965 and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati. Dave moved to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1991 to work for Richards Insurance and became the owner in 1999. Dave met the love of his life, Danielle, and married in 2006. Together, they built on their family of four with four more beautiful children.
As the owner of Richards Insurance, he touched the lives of many in the community. Throughout his years working there, he met so many wonderful people, and created strong relationships with his colleagues, employees, and customers. Dave was so grateful for the opportunity to work for and own Richards Insurance. He was very appreciative of its success.
Dave loved spending time with his friends, and treasured every friendship that he had. There were always a lot of laughs, with an occasional inappropriate comment. He often attended football games cheering on his favorite teams, the Packers and the Badgers. Dave also loved spending time up north on Castle Rock Lake and would often call it his "happy place". He spent many Tuesday nights golfing or playing pool with his friends, ending the night with his favorite glass of scotch.
However, Dave's biggest love was his family. Everything he did was to make his family happy - whether it was making breakfast every morning, pulling the kids on skis behind the boat, or making them laugh with his dad jokes. Everyone knew Dave as confident, funny, and driven, but his family always saw the love he carried for others. He showed this love when he would cater to anything his family wanted, including for both his dog, Ed, and his cat, Carl. He was very passionate about traveling and took many trips with his wife and family. Dave always said that "memories are more important than things" and his family has been lucky to have so many great memories together.
Dave will be deeply missed by his loving wife Danielle (Wuestenberg) Fister and their six beautiful children Rachel Fister, Javier Gomez, Colin Fister, Lillianne Fister, Scarlet Fister, and Vivian Fister; his parents Denis and Jane Fister; his brother Nick Fister; his sisters Diane Blum and Pamela Lansaw; his father and mother in-law John and Vernette Wuestenberg. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Fister in 2011.
A memorial gathering for David will take place on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating. Following the service, the family would like to invite everyone for a gathering at The Shores of Fox Lake, N10604 Chief Kuno Trail, Fox Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dave's name may be directed to Church Health Services Inc. or St Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church.
The Fister family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has been there for them in their time of need.
