David James Collins, (27), went home to Jesus on December 2, 2021. While his time on this earth was limited, his effect on the people in his life will last forever. His passion for Christ was followed by his deep love and commitment to his wife Emily Mae (Gissendanner) Collins and his two children James David Collins (3) and Judah Daniel Collins (8 mo).
Born in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Jeffrey David Collins and Tonia (Plummer) Collins. He had a most precious bond with his younger brother Kevin and they shared some of life's greatest adventures together. He graduated from North Greenville University in 2016 and Nation Ford High School in 2012 but his main education was from God's word and the books he read voraciously.
He was an abolitionist of abortion, crying out for those that do not have a voice. His heart for others could be seen in the jobs he worked; caring for others in a nursing home and most recently as a teaching assistant at Banks Trail Elementary loving on students that need it the most.
David was brutally honest, but isn't that what real love is? He was a deep thinker, yet maintained a child-like innocence and a sense of humor that endeared him to everyone. He never met a meme or a jar of Jif creamy peanut butter he didn't like. If you never met him, I'm sorry for you. For those that know him, follow his example, love Jesus and love others and you'll see him again. He's rooting for us all.
He is survived by his wife and children, parents, and brother.
