He arrived on July 23, 1939 and departed friends and family on February 12, 2022. His love for all and his many acts of kindness will be missed by one and all.
He married the love of his life Shirley and they remained together for almost sixty-two years. He lived in or near Middleburg for most of his life.
He was first employed by the S+A grocery for twelve years as a butcher. He then advanced to the meat manager position at the International Safeway in McLean, Va, for eighteen years.
Then at the request of a neighbor, he was hired as a project manager for Sorenson Construction Company, building town houses and single-family residences for at least thirty years before finally retiring.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, a sister Francis Wood and a brother A. Lee Bell. He also leaves behind his constant companion and best four-legged friend "Katie" and a host of other family and friends.
Although he had no children of his own, he found six little children and helped them though their life's journey. He provided them his special love and kindness, his generosity, and his life advice. In return, he received their love and affection, and he would smile every time they would say "Hey Grandpa".
