David Bahler, 72, of Napoleon, Ohio and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Northcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Napoleon. Dave was born on June 15, 1950 to Leonard and Marie (Gerken) Bahler. Dave attended accounting school in Fort Wayne, Indiana and finished with a BA at Siena Heights University of Michigan. On March 27, 1982 he married the love of his life, Marilyn Smith, whom survives. Together they shared forty wonderful years together and had two sons.
Dave loved math. He was able to answer finance problems that students are Harvard University could not solve. As an accountant, Dave would help ma and pop companies figure out their finances. He was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He remolded his family's farm house inside and out and had dreams of running the farm again. He attended master gardener courses and was always looking for ways to support his family. He loved them dearly. He was also fascinated with geology and in his younger years looked forward to go caving; searching for fossils, stones and geodes. He was a member of Zoar Lutheran Church of Perrysburg, Ohio.
Dave is survived by his wife, Marilyn and sons, Dan (Elizabeth) and Mike (Katie) Bahler. He is also survived by three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Daniel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home (830 N. Scott St.) of Napoleon from 4pm to 8pm. Services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Snyder-Wesche-Hoening Funeral Home at 11am with an hour of visitation prior to the services. Reverend Logan Scheiwe will be officiating. He will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials in Dave's memory may be considered to the National Alzheimer's Association or Kind Hearts Hospice.
