David L. Acre, age 81, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on September 21, 2020. David was born in Otter Lake, Michigan on August 30, 1939 to the late Clarence and Carol (Johnson) Acre. He attended Lakeville High School and proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Linguist for over 26 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Following his retirement from the service, David moved to Winslow, Arkansas, and later, to Spring Hill, Florida. He was an active member of the American Legion and in his spare time, enjoyed coin collecting and spending time with his family. David will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Janice (Lutze) Acre; his step-children, Kevin (Connie), Gary (Liz), and Luann; siblings, Eva, Bruce, and Fred (Jackie); sister-in-law, Joann; and step-brother-in-law, Harold; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years, Ann; children, Lawrence and Michael; brothers, Keith, Douglas, and Robert; step-mother, Norine; step-siblings, Ramona and Eugene; step-brother-in-law, Eugene; and sister-in-law, Arleda. David will be interred with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
