Darrell Lee Browning, 74, of Unionville died Monday April 12, 2021 in Bell Trace Health and Living Center. He was born July 12, 1946 in Bloomington to Elmer Browning and Pauline Floyd Browning. He was retired from Otis Elevator where he was a machinist.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jo Ellen Freeman Browning of Unionville; a stepson, Jesse Michael Clontz of Bloomington; a grandson who was Darrell's pride and joy, Ezra Michael Clontz; a brother, Donald Browning of Unionville; his mother-in-law, Delores Freeman of Spencer; a brother-in-law, Eddie (Kentrina) Freeman of Westport; a sister-in-law, Joy Dawn (Jim) Weimer of Solsberry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Bob Freeman.
Darrell enjoyed hunting, woodworking and refinishing antique furniture. He was a 1964 graduate of Unionville High School and served for 7 years in the Indiana National Guard.
There will be a public gathering of family and friends on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM in Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home, 4150 E Third St. Attendees are encouraged to dress casually but wear a face mask. There will be a Family only Graveside Service on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Little Union Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Freeman officiating.
