Darlene always loved the arts and entertaining; she was a cheerleader, involved in numerous theater productions, and performed in Summer Stock throughout her high school years. While attending school in Columbus, she joined the Little Sisters of Minerva program with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity where she met her first husband William Gillota (w 1970), and later moved to Atlanta, GA where they had their daughter Tiffany. Over the next several years she became an avid and highly competitive tennis player, winning several regional titles in both Florida and Georgia. In the late 1980's she began working for Arbonne International where former CEO, Petter Morck featured her as the first woman on the cover of Eye on Arbonne magazine and she became the first Regional VP for the South East United States.
In 1992 Darlene followed her lifelong dream to work in high fashion taking her to Houston, TX, where she spent several years as a fashion buyer for a private label. She flourished within the industry, traveled around the world and attended Paris Fashion Week on several occasions.
In 2003 she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Noble Williams and they married on August 22, 2006. In 2009 Darlene fell in love again when they adopted their beloved Labradoodle, Palmer. During their 18 years together, Darlene and Bill traveled extensively, and spent much of their free time between Houston and their second home in Chestertown.
