On August 1, 2022, Darlene Leora Stutzman-Kuebler passed away in Lakeland, FL. She was 89 years old.
Darlene is survived by her children Judi Petersen (Joseph) of Nevada, Joette Duke (Michael) of Michigan, Karen Dumas of Texas, and John Stutzman of South Carolina. Her grandchildren, Stacey Shattuck, Tonia Dryja, Dan Springer, Jonathan Mack, Sam Mack, BilliJo Tourtillott, Jess Paulsen, and Emily Boesmiller-Hoch with their spouses; her six great grandchildren, Caroline Mack, Jason Mack, Donavan Paulsen, Jasmine Paulsen, Rebecca Perdomo, Waylon Dryja, and two great great grandchildren, Skylar Perdomo and Dwayne Perdomo.
She was preceded in death by first husband of 56 years, Melvin A Stutzman, her second husband of 10 years, Harold Kuebler, daughter, Mary Breedlove, and son, Jeremiah Stutzman.
Darlene was born on December 18, 1932 in Millersburg, Ohio. She married Melvin Stutzman in 1950 and were married 56 years. They had six children, four girls and two boys. Darlene was a hard-working mother and wife, she worked in ministry with Melvin for several years, then worked as a film developer (in the days when cameras used film) until she retired in 1997. Darlene loved gardening not just vegetables but flowers as well. She could make anything grow and thrive. She loved to bowl and participated in bowling leagues throughout her life. In her 80's she was a champion bowler, having her name in the papers of her accomplishments almost weekly. She was a baseball fan and loved to attend games and watch on TV with the Houston Astros being her favorite.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Reid Chapel in Seaside Memorial Park. Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Aurelius Baptist Church, 4419 W. Barnes Rd., Mason, MI.
