Dolly Kauffman, of Denver, formerly of Keenesburg, passed away unexpectedly at Brookdale University Park. Dolly was born on July 13, 1928 in Garner, Iowa to John Anton and Lena (Bahr) Doll. Dolly and Raymond Kauffman were married on December 21, 1947 and they had 2 children, Bruce and Barbara.
Raymond and Dolly farmed and fed cattle in the Keenesburg area for over 50 years before Ray passed away. Dolly remained on the farm until moving to Denver to be closer to her daughter and her family. Dolly loved painting, golfing, dancing, social time with friends, gardening, reading, traveling, singing, listening to music and most of all spending time with her family.
A decades long member of Weld County Homemakers, Dolly also served as past president. She and Raymond were honored as the 1987 Grand Marshals of the S.E. Weld County Jr. Fair and Rodeo. They were lifelong supporters of Children's Hospital and assisted in/arranged for numerous migrant farm workers to become U.S. citizens over the years.
Dolly's faith played an important role in her life.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Lena Doll; beloved husband, Raymond and brothers Al Doll and John Doll. She is survived by her children: Bruce Kauffman and Barbara (Ron) Pred; four grandchildren: Joe Kauffman, Sami (Josh Leib) Kauffman, Rory Pred and Josh Pred; great granddaughter Caceres Leib; sisters Dorothy Simpier and Sharon Vandermee and brother Ronald (Kathy) Doll; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Her sharp wit, wisdom and loving nature will be missed by all.
Dolly's graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Linn Grove Cemetery, Greeley. Due to the pandemic, her family will host a Life Celebration at a later date.
