Dodgeville - Darlene G. Johnson of Dodgeville, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday January 5, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Darlene was born March 23, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Lillian Hayes. She was a graduate of Big Foot High School, Walworth, Wisconsin.
She married the love of her life, Charles (Chuck) Johnson in 1961 in Sharon, Wisconsin. Chuck and Darlene enjoyed a wonderful 62 years of marriage. Darlene and Chuck have two sons, Sid and David.
Darlene and Chuck began their fifty plus year farming journey in Clinton, then moved to Evansville before settling on their cherished family farm in Dodgeville for the last thirty years. Darlene was a true farm wife, working alongside Chuck in every aspect of farm life, from milking cows and driving tractors to keeping the household running smoothly and making every holiday special for their family.
Darlene is survived by her husband: Charles of Dodgeville; her two children: Sid (Lisa) Johnson of Evansville and David (Rene) Johnson of Evansville; her five grandchildren: Amanda (Elliott) Olsen, Michael (Kortney Pippenger) Johnson, Otis (Karley Krupp) Johnson, Malcolm Johnson, Quincee Johnson, and her great-granddaughter Everlee Olsen. She is also survived by many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Donald Hayes and Darrell Hayes and her sister, Dolores Lubis, her sister-in-law Amber Wood, brothers-in-law Carl Gaulke, Andy Johnson and Carl Johnson.
A Celebration of Life for Darlene is planned for Sunday February 11, 2024 at the CENTER TOWN HALL, 9119 W County Road A, Evansville, Wisconsin from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Agrace Hospice Care at Agrace.org/Donate in Darlene's name.
