Darl Eugene Everett, Sr was born November 25, 1938 to John Everett Sr and Marian Everett in Topeka, Kansas.
Darl Eugene Everett Sr began his formal education in Topeka 501 Public Schools and gradutated from Topeka High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He later attended Washburn University graduating with a B.S. in Psychology and went on to complete his Master's Degree in Psychology at Kanas University. Darl Eugene Everett Sr began his career at the Topeka Police Department in 1962 as a patrolman. He retired from the police department on November 22nd, 1988.
Darl Eugene Everett Sr fully understood that we do not live by bread alone. Marrying his high school sweetheart; Ruth "Tootie" Scales was one of the most memorable days of his life. Tootie preceded him in death in July, 2020. He is survived by his son, Darl Everett, Jr. (LuSundra), his grandson Darl Eugene Everett III, his granddaughters; Donavyn, Ashley, and Candace, and great grandson; Terrion, along with his two youngest sisters; Delilah Lynn, and Mary Frances, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will think of him often and miss him dearly. He had one daughter, Terilyn Lynette Lockhart Everett who precedes him in death.
A graveside service honoring Darl's life will be held on March 13, 2021 at 11:00am at the Mount Hope Funeral Chapel located at 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, Kansas 66604. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8517 https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
