Darice O. Carroll McCool passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on June 13, 2023 in Townsend, Tennessee. She was born on January 26, 1934 in Pickens County, Alabama. In 1951 she married Wesley Dorris McCool and had three children; Candy Kay, Wesley Eugene (Gene) and Jerry Randal (Randy). She worked and retired from Seminole Manufacturing in Columbus, MS. She spent many days quilting and working in her garden. In 1996, she and her husband moved to Sweetwater, Tennessee and later moved to Townsend where she resided until her death. She was a member of Wears Valley First Baptist Church in Sevierville, Tennessee where she attended faithfully. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. She made friends with everyone and loved to tell stories from her childhood.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Wesley Dorris McCool; parents: Robert L. and Mamie Carroll; brothers: Redus Carroll, Willard Carroll, and Billy Joe Carroll, sister: Barbara Kizzire; grandson: Robert Nathan McCool; great-grandson Parker Bailey McCool; great-great-grandson: Zander Brayden Robertson.
She is survived by her daughter: Candy Kay (Roy) Myers, sons: Wesley Eugene (Linda) McCool, Jerry Randal (Theresa) McCool Sr.; grandchildren: Lorie Myers, Stephani McCool, Jerry Randal McCool Jr., Leigh Ann (Jason) Myers Hanson, Wesley Michael McCool, Joshua Wesley (Haley) McCool; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and many other special friends she has made during her life adventures.
Services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Kyker's Chapel at Kyker Funeral Homes, 113 W. North St., Sweetwater, TN 37874. with Rev. Johnny Carr and Brother: Michael Barnes officiating. Receiving of friends will begin at 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow the service in the Christianburg Church Cemetery in Sweetwater. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Darcie requested donations be made to Wears Valley First Baptist Church Maintenance Fund, 3504 Wears Valley Road, Sevierville, TN 37826.
