Darell King George, Sr. age 88, went home to be with Jesus Friday, October 1, 2021. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He taught Sunday School and RAs at different times over the years to the youth at First Baptist Church, Loudon, TN. While serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, he was assigned to the USS Sabine. He had been a master woodworking craftsman, planning wonderful patterns for his many grandfather clocks he'd built, along with many other wood projects. Collecting Indian artifacts and metal detecting were hobbies he loved over the years. He will be so missed, but he's celebrating now with his wife, and other family members that were waiting for him in Heaven. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Marita J. George, parents McCona and Mary George, and sister Barbara George.
He leaves behind his loving children Beth Hedley and husband Bill, Buddy George, Barry George, Becky Dayton and husband Mike, Jenny Stafford and husband Charles; grandchildren Will and wife Jennifer Hedley, Mark, Ben and wife Leslie Hedley, and John and wife Megan Hedley, Stephen, Daniel, and Allison Dayton, Tyler and wife Sarah Stafford, Aubrey and husband Brandon Kilby, Ross and wife Sheona Stafford, Sean and Matt George, Amy Lee, and Stephanie Fuentes. Great-grandchildren; Liam Hedley, Luca Hedley, August Hedley, and Thomas Hedley, Dallon Dayton, Cameron and Caroline Dayton, Easton and Everly Stafford, Tinley and Maylee Kilby, Kinsley and Gavin George, Lily and Ava Fuentes. Sister-in-law, Pat Kinser. Nieces and nephews; Chuck Job, Robert Job, Ella Job, Kathy Carroll, and Dan Kinser.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, Roberson Cemetery, Loudon, TN, with Rev. Tim Watson of Loudon, TN officiating. Pallbearers include all ten of his grandsons.
