Danny White, age 93, of Dallas, passed away on February 25, 2025.
Danny was born September 11, 1931, in Vernon, Texas where he attended grade school and junior high.
He later graduated from high school in Guymon, Oklahoma before earning a BBA at the University of Oklahoma in 1953.
While at Oklahoma he was named a Distinguished Military Student, was a member of Phi Eta Sigma honor fraternity and was active in Delta Chi social fraternity.
During his time there he married his beloved wife, Sue Bridges, in 1952.
After earning his degree, Danny received a commission in the US Air Force, where he served two years on active duty with the 72nd Heavy Bomb Wing of the Strategic Air Command, primarily in Puerto Rico, during the Cold War.
He was proud to be a part of the team that maintained the B-36 bombers (6 turning and 4 burning) which were the primary deterrent to nuclear warfare.
Danny retired in 1996, after 32 years at Republic National Bank of Dallas and its successor institutions.
He made lasting contributions by managing the Personal Development Department, providing training for employees and managers at all levels.
He later administered clients' Trusts and Investments. Before his banking career, he was Assistant Purchasing Agent at IDECO, a division of Dresser Industries.
After retirement he volunteered many years at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, helping to maintain the history of the warplanes that were instrumental in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
He loved aviation, earning his pilot's license for his 50th birthday, and taking ride alongs in the museum's planes.
He enjoyed helping out at air shows across the country.
He and Sue enjoyed traveling the country, until her death in 2020, and visited all 50 states. He also cherished playing golf with his best friends.
However, what brought him the most joy throughout his life was singing. He was an avid member of choirs, choruses and, particularly, in barbershop harmony.
He once said that his epitaph should be: "He will teach the angels to sing harmony".
Danny is survived by his daughter Stacy White, niece Marilyn Jackson, nephew Mark McCrary, and great-niece Betsy McBee.
A service to honor Danny's life will be at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland on March 6, 2025, at 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
