Daniel "Danny" Underwood was 73 when he shuffled into Heaven to be welcomed by his mother and father, Clarence and Ruth Underwood as well as his brothers, Darrell Underwood, John Billy Underwood, Mike Underwood, Doug Underwood, Bob Underwood, Ronnie Underwood and sisters, Lavenia McNew and Donna McKamey.
Danny was born in Roane County and at age 18 joined the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany and served his country honorably. Upon his return, he moved to Ohio where he was a truck driver for many years, and later moved back home to Tennessee and began his career with CO-OP until his retirement after 32 years of service.
Danny was an avid traveler, and he loved the ocean. He had knowledge in many different skills which he through life would share with family and anyone wanting to learn. Danny was a strong, kind, loving and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family.
Danny is survived by his son, Chad, and his wife, Christy Underwood; daughter, Tonya Underwood; grandchildren, Cassandra, Tyra, Justin, Zarah, Ashton, Amber, Cooper; great granddaughter, Jaylynn; brother, David and his wife, Debby Underwood; sister, Janice and her husband, Tommy Manis, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of Danny's Life with full military honors will be held at his home, 203 Pinecrest Drive, in Loudon, on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 4:00p.m. The family will serve food and drinks (BYOB) after the celebration. Seating is limited so please bring a chair, dress casually and make sure to bring your favorite memories of Danny to share with everyone. In lieu of flowers please give live plants or keepsakes.
