Daniel Thomas Springer, 60, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
Dan attended Charlotte schools and graduated from West Charlotte HS in 1980. He was very active in Boy Scouts and the Youth Group at Cokesbury UMC. After graduating high school, he started work in the automotive industry, a career path that he would follow, in various ways, throughout his life.
Dan loved to go fishing and hunting with his dad and grandfathers in Albemarle and he shared that passion with his own children years later. Dan had a keen ability to bring fun and smiles to any occasion, with a sense of humor unlike any other. He was caring and gracious, generous and inclusive, and never, ever met a stranger. His most cherished time was spent with family, especially his two sons who had become his very best friends.
Dan leaves behind his wife, Cynthia Rink Springer of Charlotte, sons Daniel Adam Springer (Lexi) of Hamlet, NC and Ryan Thomas Springer (Anika) of Chapel Hill, NC, mother Bonnie Mullinix Springer of Albemarle, NC, sisters Amanda Springer Hathcock (Jeff) of Huntersville, NC and Kelley Springer Adams (David) of Gastonia, NC, as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Myron Springer, maternal grandparents Tom and Lucille Mullinix, paternal grandparents Henry and Emma Springer and step-grandmothers Deane Mullinix and Doris Springer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider donations to the National Alliance for Mental Illness (https://nami.org/Home) or UMAR (https://umarinfo.com/donate).
Dan was an unforgettable father, son, husband, brother and friend. We are devastated beyond words by this loss but we rejoice in his resurrection and final victory. We will love and miss him forever. Condolences may be left for the family at www.McEwenFS.com.
